In Collaboration with: Hanneke Jongsma

Currently living and working from her monumental townhouse in Amsterdam, Hanneke has established a professional career and continues to grow with an abundance of loyal clients. Her natural style of playful brush strokes and dazzling colour makes the images come alive. Her technique always begins with a simple pencil outline, which she then brings to life with magical colours using ecolink and whimsical brushstrokes.

In Collaboration with: Davina Stephens

Davina Stephens is a local artist who works in Diverse mediums to portray the culture and landscapes of Bali & Indonesia. Her work method proceeds by building paintings in layers using paint, print and collage. In many of her artworks you can see she uses the Javanese Batik Stamp, “cap” and combines it with the carved woodblock print. Her landscapes are awash with colours that create a dreamlike depth and mystery. Her travels, searches and conquests of freedom have developed a singular vision by global sensibility, taking her exhibitions to international recognition.

A VERY SPECIAL PROJECT

In early 2010 we were approached by Barack Obama's Javanese family to produce a commemorative photo book on the occasion of his visit to Indonesia. We had to remake the cover three times due to changes in schedules but finally he was presented with the limited edition book. There are only 53 numbered books published. Some of which now sit in the bookshelves of the Whitehouse. Saraswati Papers specialises in custom design and one of a kind pieces.

TAMAN SAFARI : FROM ELEPHANT POO TO PAPER

In 2011 we were asked to consult on paper making facility at Bali Safari and Marine Park. They were interested in making paper from elephant dung. After several trials and building a paper making plant onsite, Safari Poo Paper was born. The paper is made onsite by locally trained artisans and there are workshops for school children and visitors to the park. The Safari Poo Paper Shop sells a range of special papers made exclusively from elephant poop and post consumer paper from their offices.

MARS INC: FROM TRASH TO PAPER

In early 2009 Saraswati Papers was approached by Mars Inc. to collaborate on a sustainability project primarily recycling the bark of the cocoa trees grown in their co-operatives in Sulawesi into handmade paper. MyCocoaPaper.com continues to produce gift and corporate stationary with Saraswati Papers to promote their environmental practices.
